DOUG CHABOT

Doug Chabot spent most of his career as an avalanche specialist and director of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center in Bozeman, MT. Doug is the founder of SnowPilot, a free snowpack graphing website, which is world’s largest database of snowpits.

Doug is also a consultant for a nonprofit specializing in disaster relief in Central Asia where he remotely forecasts avalanches for mountain villages in Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan. He's also a mountain guide and alpinist and has been on numerous climbing expeditions to Alaska, Nepal, India, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan, resulting in many first ascents and new routes.

In 2011, Doug co-founded Iqra Fund, a nonprofit devoted to girls’ education in northern Pakistan.
